The Indian Summer Festival, September 11th and 12th, 2026, is a longtime Hertford tradition that brings residents and visitors together for a weekend of community celebration, local culture, and family-friendly fun. The event supports businesses in and around downtown, showcases community pride, and helps highlight Hertford as a vibrant destination in Perquimans County.

Friday, September 11th, kicks off the festival with the popular Friday Night Street Dance. This year’s headlining performer, Irresistible Groove, is an award-winning party and wedding band whose wide-ranging playlist will keep the crowd dancing all evening.

Saturday, September 12th, is the festival’s main event, running from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and featuring live entertainment, great food, shopping with local vendors, an antique car show, and the Happy Hearts Hub for families to enjoy.

Last year’s Indian Summer Festival welcomed 3,300 attendees across Friday night and Saturday, providing meaningful visibility for participating businesses and organizations.
